Kimani Demar Johnson, 35, of Youngstown, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Born on January 31, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York, Kimani was the beloved son of Tonya Johnson and Christopher Anderson. He later made Youngstown his home, where he was known for his love of family, his athletic ability, and the friendships he built throughout his life.
At an early age, Kimani discovered a passion for basketball. The game quickly became one of the defining parts of his life, and his talent on the court earned him numerous athletic awards and the admiration of teammates, coaches, and friends.
Above all, Kimani was a devoted and loving father. His greatest pride and joy were his two beloved children, Ki’Myriah and Amir, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Christopher Johnson.
Kimani leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Tonya Johnson and Christopher Anderson; his stepfather, Roy Graves; his children, Ki’Myriah and Amir; his sister, Tanaiya Johnson; his grandmother, Mary Johnson; his aunts, Tara Johnson, Ester Anderson, and Vee Micetosh; his uncles, Tomar Johnson, Angelo Anderson, and Andrew Anderson; his nieces, Achaia, Aaliyah, Ariel, Za’Niyah, and Mariah; his nephews, Christian and Christopher; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He also leaves a special group of cousins who were like brothers and sisters to him: Trimar, Darrius, Corey, Jovanni, Chiquana, Tiara, Kierra, and Tomar Jr. His family extends heartfelt appreciation to the mothers of his children, Diamond and Shaniquia, for the love and support they shared. Kimani also leaves special love to Ashley and the many friends whose lives he touched through their kindness, loyalty, and unwavering support.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Kimani’s lifelong friend, Kashmere, for remaining a faithful friend throughout his life. Your friendship, love, and loyalty will always be remembered.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Kimani’s memory will continue to live on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
