LaMarr "Lem" Stinson 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday November 22, 2012. LaMarr was born June 22, 1940 in Enterprise, AL son of the late Will C. and Katie (Frazier) Stinson. After serving in the U.S. Army, LaMarr moved to Waterbury, CT. "Lem" as he was affectionately called was known to be a kind person with a "big heart" that would give his last to help others. He was recently recognized for his contributions and efforts on behalf of the Pearl Street Summer Basketball League. He was a passionate advocate for the importance of youth sports and its role in the community.
LaMarr Stinson is survived by his son; LaMarr Stinson Jr. (Shawna), stepdaughter; Joanne Reynolds, and stepson; John V. Reynolds, three brothers Willie of West Virginia, Leon and Floyd both of Ohio and a companion Pearl Byrd, two Granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved dearly.
Following his service in Connecticut there will be a homegoing service Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Second Chance Ministries, 255 South 3rd Street, Steubenville, Ohio. Visitation at 10:00 AM with the service following at 11:00 AM. The Pastor, Elder Mark Gilliam is officiating. He will be placed to rest at Union Cemetery, 1720 Sunset Blvd, Steubenville, Ohio.
