Laura M West Jennings , 98, was born May 12, 1922, in Vienna, Georgia, to the union of William and Ethel Felton West . On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, Laura passed away peacefully at Trinity West Medical Center.

Laura was a Christian by faith and a long-time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Weirton West Virginia. She was their pianist for many dutiful years. She learned her craft at a young age and began playing at 12 years of age. She worked and retired from Weirton Steel Corporation and was a member of the 25-year club.

Laura met and married her former spouse, the late Francis Jennings, Sr., and their union was blessed with seven children. They remained friends as they reared their family until his death in 1984. She was a very sweet and hard-working woman who loved her family more than anything. She was always available for a loving word or supportive gesture. Her kindness will always be a guiding light and a true example of a virtuous woman for her family.

She was preceded in death by her sons Brian G. Jennings , Francis Jennings , Jr., Johnathan Jennings , Sr., and one daughter , Rhonda Jean Jennings ; her siblings, DC West, Frank West, Marie Dickey, and Willi Bell West; and one daughter-in-law, Fannie Jennings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three loving children, Charles (Linda) Jennings, Duane Jennings, and Saundra (Elver) Lee; grandchildren, Duana (Darnell), Cesare "Chez" (Kamilah), Jonathan, Jr., Charles, Jr., Danielle, Tarana, and Brian (Mylee); great-grandchildren, Quayana, Dauna, Daunay, Darnell, Jr., Vanessa, Landon, Shane (Laurie), Cesare, Jr.,  Aaliyah, and Landree; great-great-grandchildren, Jakhi and Sa'Nai; daughters-in-law, Mary and Eunice Jennings a host of other relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, corner of Weir Ave., and Kessel St. , in Weirton , West Virginia. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Gregory-Martin Funeral Home , LLC.
