Lemoyne "Lightning" Blanchard was called home on October 16, 2015. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on November 4, 1954 to the late Dorothy Gene Blanchard Harrison.
Lightning was a kind hearted man with a strong love for his friends and family. He took special joy in providing activities and opportunities for the children in the community. He was a pillar of the community and an outstanding man to all who knew him.
He was a faithful husband, devoted father, loving brother and affectionate grandfather and dear uncle. He was so full of love, service and sacrifice. He was never too busy or too tired to help someone in need.
Lightning had a true talent and musical gift. He had an ear for music and played many instruments and enjoyed singing. He sang and toured, during his younger years, with a few R & B Groups. He was a precious soul that will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife and friend of over 25 years; Carol Linda Simon Blanchard, three sons; Lemoyne Blanchard, Jr. and Darnell Simon both of Steubenville, Ohio, Nathaniel Blanchard of Oakland, California, a daughter; Shameka Blanchard of Oakland, California, brothers; William and Gregory Harrison of Steubenville, Ohio, Eugene Harrison of Weirton, WV, John Blanchard of Virginia, and Daniel Cooke of Texas, sisters; Regina, Karen and Stella Blanchard all of Steubenville, Ohio, six grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, a best friends; Aaron "Short" Gilbert and many more friends.
