IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leon L.
Stinson
August 17, 1956 – January 12, 2022
Leon L. Stinson was born August 17, 1956, in Steubenville, Ohio to the union of Leon Stinson and Hazel (Greenlee) Stinson.
Leon was educated in the Steubenville City School System and was a graduate of Steubenville "Big Red" class of 1974. Red, as he was lovingly called, was extremely intelligent and artistic. He was offered a chance to study abroad in Italy for his artistic and language skills. He was also very athletic and enjoyed Wrestling and playing Baseball.
Leon was a jokester and liked making people laugh. His pastime was playing pool and he was a truly talented drummer. If you saw Red you would see him with his supplies, Milwaukee Brew. He loved his children, family, and had an adoringly soft spot for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He met and married Bernadette Johnson, his former wife, and they remain close friends today.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kate and Will Stinson, who raised him; and his parents, Leon Stinson and Hazel Carney.
Leon will be remembered by his children, De'on "Bubbles" (Rayna) Stinson, Leondra (Isabelle) Lindsey, Checquila Stinson, Yvonne Patterson, Marie Stinson, and Anissa (Charles) Dawson; his siblings, Leonette (Keith) Murray, John P. Stinson, Dorisa Stinson, Rhonda (Andre) Stinson-Creech, and Nicole (Charles) Sims; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a Goddaughter, Lyric Montgomery; a special friend, Deborah Saunders; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives.
To know him was to love him.
