Leroy Saxton was born on October 7, 1925 to the union of the late Leroy and Lucille (Collins) Saxton. He was born in Denmark, South Carolina. He was reared in Denmark and attended the schools there. Around the age of eighteen he relocated to the Ohio Valley Area.
He soon met and married his first wife Emma Lee Brown. They were married for nearly sixty years until her death on January 26, 2007. Eight children were born to their union.
He was a very kind man and when he was younger he liked to fish, cook, do outside chores and be very helpful to others. He had a great sense of humor and kept everyone around him laughing. It was not unusual to see him on the porch enjoying a nice day.
Leroy worked and retired from Ohio Edison. He took great care of his family. Later in life he was blessed with his second wife, Sandra Murry. They enjoyed many good years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Emma, sons; Leroy, Jr., Freddy and Leon Saxton.
He will always be remembered by his loving family: his wife; Sandra, children; Ernest, John and Paul (Marsha) Saxton, Ethel Harris and Leola Wilkerson, step-daughters; Ashley Murry, Amanda Lewis and Aleah Adams, a host of grand and great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
