Evangelist Lillie L. Turner

October 25, 1940 - September 14, 2021

Evangelist Lillie L. Turner, 80, departed this life into the eternal hands of our heavenly Father on September 14, 2021. She was born on October 25, 1940, in Ellaville, Georgia. She was a resident of Carriage Inn of Steubenville, Ohio, for the past five years.

Lillie accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Ghost. She was actively involved in several ministries over her lifetime; however, her home church and membership ended at Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly, in Weirton, West Virginia.

During her lifetime, she served as a minister/evangelist, Sunday school teacher, missionary, trustee, altar worker, and usher. She was a member of the Ohio District Council of PAW, where she was involved as a counselor for the ODC teen camp, and Ohio District Council ushers.

She graduated from Bellaire High School in 1959. She attended Aenon Bible College, Columbus, Ohio, and received her Bachelor's of Theology from the International Apostolic University of Grace and Truth, Dayton, Ohio. Lillie was retired from the Weirton Steel Tin mill department where she worked as a metallurgical tester of tin plate, zinc, and Weir chrome.

She was well known for singing "How Great Thou Art", which stirred her audience.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Frank Sr. and Lillie Mae Harris Turner.

She is survived by her sisters, Willie Mae Fields, of Washington, D.C.; Ruby Nancy Young, of Columbus, Ohio; and Dr. Helen Turner, of Akron, Ohio; brothers, Charlie Frank Jr. (Barbara) Turner, of Edmonton, Alberta (Canada); and Don R. (Rebecca) Turner, of Weirton, West Virginia; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 11:00 am until the time of funeral service, 12 noon at Shiloh Apostolic Faith Church, 3000 Weir Avenue in Weirton, West Virginia 26062. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
