Mr. Lonnie Barker, a lifelong resident of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia.
He was born on February 23, 1960, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Napoleon and Delores Barker. Lonnie was a Christian by faith.
Known for his vibrant personality and sense of humor, Lonnie loved to laugh, joke, and bring joy to those around him. A true "jack of all trades," he worked various roles as a general laborer throughout his life. He was reliable, hardworking, and always there for his family. Even in difficult times, Lonnie faced life with a smile and kept his sense of humor, no matter the situation.
Lonnie was a passionate sports fan—especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He had a distinct sense of style, loved shoes and clothes, and had a signature look all his own. Those who knew him best would say he had a heart of gold, a caring spirit, and an unforgettable ability to brighten any room.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Barker.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Caché and Edie, and his stepdaughter, Olivia; his siblings, Mary Ellis, Clyde Barker, Little Barker, and Joseph Barker; his significant other, Shelia Thorn; along with a host of extended family members and friends.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Chapel.
