Maggie Mae Minnifield was born on June 6, 1947, in Perry County, Alabama to the union of Lemon and Vernia Jones.
She was raised Baptist and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She was a nurturer at heart which led her to her career with Jefferson County Headstart in the late 1970's until the closing of the program in 2012. She worked her way from a classroom aid to administration throughout her 30 plus years of service.
She believed in staying busy and being active in her community worked the election polls. Maggie was a hard worker and after the closing of the Headstart program; she worked with the local senior program and Primetime until her health failed. Maggie also loved to recited the poetry of Paul Lawrence Dunbar
She was an excellent mother and grandmother and her family was truly the apple of her eye. She enjoyed a "real" southern cuisine. At times, she was even known for putting her southern roots into action in the kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Lonnie and Ronnie; siblings, Jessie Jones, Estelle Holley and Earlene Gadson.
She passed away on November 26, 2019 and will forever be remembered by: her children, Tiffany (Gary Marlow) Minnifield and Robert Minnifield, Jr.; her brother, William S. Jones; her sister, Eloise Jones; her beloved grandson, Kai Minnifield; a host of other relatives and friends.
She will be forever known for her beautiful smile, sharp mind and wit, and her joyous sense of humor.
