IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion Louise
Hicks
July 24, 1952 – September 14, 2025
Marion Louise Hicks, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Steubenville, Ohio, on September 14, 2025.
Marion was born on July 24, 1952, in Macon County, Georgia, to Catherine and O.C. Hicks. At just six months old, she moved to Steubenville with her grandparents, where she later built a loving family of her own. Affectionately known as "Ms. Mary," she was well-known and respected throughout the community. Marion was a generous soul who would gladly give her last to someone in need. She loved attending church, taking morning walks, and was known for her memorable saying, "It's going to be what it's going to be."
Marion cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Strong-minded and strong-willed, she lived life on her own terms and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her five children: Joseph Hicks, lovingly remembered as the "favorite baby boy" and "Mr. Get It Done," Marion "Lanet" Hicks, David Hicks, Eddie Busby, and Georgina Roghelia. She also leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shaolin Hicks; the father of three of her children, Edward Mosby; and her parents, Catherine and O.C. Hicks.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Chapel, 255 S. 7th Street (Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd.), Steubenville, Ohio.
