Young life is cut short, but memories will be cherished for a long time.

Markis Rashad Hopkins Jr., 16, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on September 18, 2021. He was born November 5, 2004, in Steubenville, the son of Faliesha Elder and Markis Rashad Hopkins.

Markis attended school at Connection Academy in Canton, Ohio. He was charismatic, always cheerful, respectable, caring, and intelligent, with a charming smile.

Markis was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Muriel Elder, and grandmother Marsha Hopkins.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, Faliesha Elder; his father, Markis Rashad Hopkins; his maternal grandparents, Joseph Sr., and Jowanna Elder; his great-grandparents, Henry and Cheryl Hill; three brothers, Kyjuan, Kyleigh, and J'Ceon; three sisters, Onica, Armoni, and Adream; one niece, Liana; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Markis was surrounded by relatives and friends that he deeply loved and they all cherished him back. Aunts, uncles, and special cousins, too many to name.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 2:30 pm until 4 pm at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL AND LIFE EVENT CENTER, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio.
