Mary Kathryn (Kate) Hunter, age 92, of Steubenville, Ohio, transitioned on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. She was born on July 7, 1927, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Eddie and Rose Alice Cole.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She was a Christian by faith and an active member of the Associated Bible Students of Central America. She loved her family dearly. She was well known for two of her passions that she dearly enjoyed, playing the piano and singing.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; two daughters, Grace L. Creech, and Chrystal J. Smith; her sister whom she adored, Alice McIntyre; and her adopted daughter, Lillian (Tiny) Thompson.

Surviving her is a daughter, Rosemary (Isaiah) Culbreath, of Steubenville, Ohio; her nephew/son, Milton (Joyce) McIntyre, of Toledo, Ohio; a son-in-law, Melvin Creech, of Steubenville, Ohio; her "fabulous ten" grandchildren, Alisa (Rick) Smith, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kim Creech, Dereck (Queen) Smith, Melvin (Ashley) Creech, Christopher (Dawn) Smith, of Columbus, Ohio; LaDonna Smith, Linda Arnold, Angel Creech, Paul (Joy) Edwards, and Ricky (Jean) Smith, all of Steubenville, Ohio; 28 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

The love of a mother can never be replaced. You'll learn to live with it but it will be an emptiness inside that will always be there.

Services will convene on Monday, August 5, 2019, at GREGORY-MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 711 South Street in Steubenville. The visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service, 4 p.m.

Her devoted daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Culbreath will deliver her eulogy.
