IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melvin
Creech
May 24, 1947 – December 3, 2020
If tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not here to see,
If the sun should rise and you find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.
Melvin Creech Sr. the son of the late Irene Myers Creech and James Creech, was born on May 24, 1947, and departed this life on December 3, 2020, at Forbes Medical Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Melvin was educated in the Steubenville City School System. He married his High school sweetheart, the late Grace Smith Creech and from this union came three children, Kim, Melvin Jr., and Angel. For many years, Melvin was employed by Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. During his later years in life, he pursued his passion for landscaping and lawn servicing. He was employed as a custodian for the American Legion until his recent illness. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and his favorite song was "Never Could Have Made It" which he felt was a testimony to his life.
Melvin had an infectious smile, that made him easy to get to know and loved by all who knew him, He was affectionately called "Shorty" by some and "Melday" by others. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Grace, his sister Irene, and four brothers; Harold, Horace, Donald, and William.
Melday leaves a legacy of love to his daughters Kim and Angel, his Son Melvin (Ashley), two Sisters; Evelyn, and Mazie (James); two brothers David (Wylene) and Norman; his Sister-in-law Rosemary (Ike); his Grandchildren; Felicia Holmes (Kwamaine Sr.), Isaiah, Patrick, Marita, Cameron, Braelynn; one Great Grandson, Kwamaine Jr., and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
May today's tears of heartfelt sorrow
Be signs of hope for a brighter tomorrow
And the pain and grief that we are feeling
Give way to joy through God's merciful healing.
For goodbye is not gone forever, it's only for a while
And when we get together again we'll share in one big smile.
