Michael Wade
Decker
June 3, 1972 – March 30, 2026
Gregory-Martin Chapel
11:30 am - 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Michael Wade Decker was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. He passed away on March 30, 2026. He was born on June 3, 1972. He lived a life rooted in family, community, and an appreciation for the simple joys that surrounded him.
He was a devoted father to his five children, Arlene, Jacob, Hannah, Izabelle, and Haley. They were the center of his world and his greatest pride in life.
He leaves behind his brother Randy and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy, and his father, Randall.
He was well known in his community as someone who lived life his own way and found his greatest happiness outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature and a true green thumb. He took pride in tending to his fish hatchery, as well as caring for his chickens and his seven dogs. He especially loved farming, fishing, hunting, and spending time out on the lake.
He found purpose in building, creating, and providing. He loved working with his hands and embraced a self-reliant lifestyle. Those who truly knew him will remember his strong will, his independence, and the passion he brought to everything he cared about.
His passing is also a quiet reminder that we all carry unseen struggles. If you or someone you love is facing a difficult time, know that reaching out for support is a sign of strength. You do not have to face these battles alone. Kindness, help, and understanding are always within reach.
He was loved by many, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will always linger in memory’s quiet chambers, never lost, never fading, forever carried in the hearts that knew him.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, Steubenville Chapel, 255 S. 7th St., Steubenville, OH 43952.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember the warmth he shared, the laughter he sparked, and the love that will forever remain in their hearts.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, proudly serving families in Steubenville and Youngstown. For additional information, please call (740) 282-1234.
