Minnie Lee Burks Thompson, age 102, of Weirton, WV departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by loved ones on Friday May 6, 2016.

Minnie was born on August 30, 1913 in Dooley County, Georgia to the late Arthur and Ida Harvey Burks. Preceded in death by her husband, Louis Thompson; daughters Azzie M. Gregory and Viola Thompson.

She had been a resident of Weirton since 1937, and enjoyed gardening, search-a-word, and talks with friends and family.

She will truly be missed by her daughters, Deane (Jesse) Bonner of Marietta, GA and Earlean V. Jones of Weirton, WV; sons, Arthur (Cecilia) Thompson of Gary, IN; Lewis, Jr. (Helen) Thompson of Mingo Jct., OH; and Rickey D. Thompson of Weirton, WV; and a myriad of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
