Nathaniel was born September 9, 1965 to the late Mae Richmond, whom he loved more than himself, and his father Brady Richmond. Nate departed this life suddenly on August 20, 2017.
He attended Beasley Academic Center and was noted for his high academic achievements. He went on to Robert Lindblom Math & Science Academy in Chicago, Illinois where he graduated with high honors. He received an Associate Degree in Business Management from Eastern Gateway Community College in Steubenville, Ohio. Nate ran his own business, Grand's Goodies, for many years.
Nate was a devoted family man and friend. His love for his family was deep and he advocated for his family with passion and devotion. He would help anyone. He also loved his dogs and treated them as if they were part of family. He enjoyed music and was an avid reader. He will always be remembered for his strong will and a voice that was so remarkably strong.
He met and enjoyed a lifetime with his wife, lover and friend, Daphane J. Birden. Together they had four children, Tashonda, Malik, Amir and Na'Kia.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Richmond; and his grandmother, Audrey Anderson.
Nate leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Daphane his children, Tashonda, Malik, Amir, and Na'kia, Amirah, and Irene; two granddaughters, Aviannce, and A'Tayja; three sisters, Audrey (Frank), Valerie (Will), Angela (Melvin), his only brother, Aaron; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
His passion, and love for his family will live on as his true legacy left behind.
