Obituary

Olivia Whetstone was born December 20, 1936, in Miami, Florida to the union of Isaac and Mamie L. Montgomery.

Olivia was a faithful member of Mount Carmel Community Baptist Church in Steubenville, Ohio. She served as a Sunday school teacher and was active in the Red Hats, nursing home, and jail ministries. In addition, she served as a Hospice volunteer. She worked and retired from Prudential Insurance Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband St. Clair Whetstone, her parents Isaac and Mamie L. Montgomery, and her siblings Barbara Hubbard, Edward Montgomery, Marsha Wicker, and Rose Farmer.

Left behind are her daughter Seretha (Kenneth) Miller of Steubenville Ohio; sons Larry St. Clair Whetstone of Baldwin, Pennsylvania; and Timothy Lee Whetstone of Leetsdale, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren Kendra Miller, Larry Whetstone Jr., Larissa Whetstone, Janelle Whetstone, and Timothy Whetstone Jr., six great-grandchildren Gianna Barker, Alijah Greer, Kymier Arrington, Perry Miller, Alivia Miller, and Zalayna Miller, and four siblings Dr. Faye R. Johnston of Blacklick, Ohio; Bess (Leroy) Bolton of Reynolds, Ohio; Jacqueline Henning of The Villages, Florida; and James Montgomery of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.

All services will be held at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio, on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Public Visitation: 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Committal Service: 1:00 p.m.

Interment: Union Cemetery
