Ori Ochai was born on Friday, August 25, 1995, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born to her loving parents, Jaqueline (Jones) Kumi-Sakyi and Onazi Ochai.
Ori was baptized as a as a Jehovah's Witness at the age of 16 and was dedicated to her ministry. She attended and graduated from Steubenville High School. Ori was a quiet person but indeed a beautiful person inside and out.
Her name "Ori" means "my light" and her endurance and strength throughout her life will continue to be a light to her family. She loved her family and was the type of person that never met a stranger. She had a special bond with her older brother Isaiah and they were often referred to as twins.
After a long battle with Sickle Cell Anemia, she succumbed to the illness on February 23, 2020. She will lovingly be remembered by her parents; her siblings, Isaiah Ochai, Corey Ochai, Chandler Ochai and Onazi Ochai, Jr.; a step-sister, Esi Kumi-Sakyi; grandparents; other relatives and friends.
