Oscar Williams, aka “Big O,” a cherished son, father, grandfather, and friend of Youngstown, Ohio, was born on April 25, 1941, in Youngstown. He was the beloved son of Anthony and Isabelle Little Williams Sr.

Oscar led a life of unwavering dedication and service to his family and community. From a young age, he demonstrated immense responsibility and resilience, leaving school to provide for his family—a testament to his selflessness and commitment. This enduring sense of duty defined his life's journey, culminating in a remarkable 35-year career with Commercial Shearing, which later became Commercial Intertech and eventually merged with Parker Hannifin. His steadfast work ethic and dedication were evident to all who knew him.

Oscar was a man who found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments spent in the company of loved ones. He was a member of several bowling leagues, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and shared countless laughs. His love for tending to people's lawns showed his nurturing spirit and his deep appreciation for nature's beauty.

A devoted family man, Oscar loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and love. His evenings were often spent watching Western shows or catching up on the news, always with a warm smile and a welcoming heart. Oscar was a die-hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team.

Oscar's kindness knew no bounds. He was a man who never learned how to say no; his generosity extended to anyone in need. His humor and warmth could light up a room, and he had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, even in the most challenging of times. Oscar was a man of few complaints, choosing instead to focus on the well-being of those around him.

Preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Clifford Williams, Anthony Williams Jr., Laura “Peggy” Hammett, and Frankie Williams, Oscar leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by his children and the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his children: Joseph (Nelda) Lett and Isaac Williams, both of Mobile, Alabama; Estella (Wendell) Sparks of Niles, Ohio; Caressa Williams of Boardman, Ohio; Denise Williams of Georgia; Peggy Williams of Austintown, Ohio; Brittany Williams and Brandon Williams, both of Youngstown, Ohio; Shaquasha DeFrance of Niles, Ohio; and Shanelle Gray of Austintown, Ohio.

Oscar also leaves behind 55 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his special aunt, Mary Cherry; a longtime friend, Brenda Gray; his best buddy, Nate Robinson; and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Oscar's life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Home Youngstown Chapel, located at 292 Madison Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44504. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
