Pastor Eva Mae Montgomery Lucious passed away on August 12, 2020, at the age of 67. She was born on June 4, 1953, to Charlie Montgomery and Maebelle Williams Montgomery in Bainbridge, GA. At the age of three, she and her family relocated to Steubenville, OH.
Eva graduated from Steubenville High School in 1971. She married the love of her life Carnell Lafayette Lucious. They were married for 29 years until his passing in December 2000. In 1973, Eva gave her life to the Lord and eventually became an evangelist. She attended Shiloh Apostolic Church for many years until joining Deliverance Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith. In October 2018 Eva became the pastor of Jalamppa Ministries. Eva had many talents. She attended Pittsburgh Culinary Arts and became a chef. She was the owner and operator of Luscious Lunches and Catering. Next, she was a daycare provider and owned Heavenly Daycare. Eva was also the author of "The Light that Shines in Darkness." Eva was a quiet person and became a little more outgoing in her older age. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She was known affectionately as "Nanny."
She was preceded in death by both parents. Her husband Carnell Lafayette Lucious. A great-grandaughter Jaeliana Carr. Also, her brothers William Montgomery, Theodis Montgomery, James Montgomery, sisters Virginia Montgomery, and Jacqueline Montgomery.
She leaves to cherish 2 daughters Myisha (Demarius) Dokes & Marlyn Lucious. Her grandchildren Jazmin, Shakerah, Jalen, Janelle, Jaliyah, Dumaka, Nasari, Jahki, Khamari & Khamani. Also, great-grandchildren Me'Arah, Kensli, Ke'Ari, and Gionni. Also brother Charles Montgomery of Washington, DC, Jesse, Henry, Robert (Terri) Montgomery of Steubenville, OH Sisters Diane (George) Tobias of Selma, NC Charlene (Anthony) Trimiar, Helen Montgomery of Steubenville, OH, & Lashawn (Rocky) Barnes of Smithfield, NC A host of nieces, nephews, cousins & very close sister friends.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until the time of service, 12 noon, on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL & LIFE EVENT CENTER, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Entombment to follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
