Mr. Ralph Jerome Washington, 68, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away on May 4, 2026, at his residence.

Born on January 21, 1958, in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late U. Washington and Emma Washington. Following the untimely passing of his parents, Ralph was lovingly raised by Clemmie and her husband, who helped guide and support him throughout his upbringing. Ralph was a proud graduate of Steubenville High School and was affectionately known by many as “Big Red.” He was a veteran of the United States Army and carried that pride throughout his life.

Ralph dedicated many years of service to Urban Mission, where he worked as a director and warehouse manager. He was known as a hardworking man with a strong work ethic and earned many certifications and recognitions throughout his career. Ralph never met a stranger and was admired for his friendly personality and welcoming spirit.

He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and found joy in fellowship, community, and spending time with those he loved. Ralph attended Emmanuel COGIC during his youth and treasured his faith and connections with others.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine Washington; and his brother, Climmie L. Simmons.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving sister, Barbara Christian, along with a host of relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Second Chance Ministries. Elder Mark Gilliam will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, Ohio.
