IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reverend Willa
Wade
July 18, 1952 – December 9, 2020
Reverend Willa Wade, a long-life resident of Steubenville, Ohio, departed this life and received her eternal reward on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. She was born July 18, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late William Sr., and Gladys (Jeter) Wade.
She was educated at Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated in 1970. Later, she attended Jefferson Technical College in Steubenville, Ohio, and graduated with an Associate's Degree.
Willa loved the Lord and was a life-long faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Steubenville. She was active with the Missionary Department, Voices of Second Choir, and New Day Choir. Her faith and love of the Lord led her to accept her calling and she served as a pastor's aide and was ordained as a Reverend in 2018 by the Pastor, Reverend Marvin Barner.
She was a hair-stylist by trade and also worked as a nurse's aide for several years. She volunteered for the Salvation Army. Willa was an avid baker and enjoyed baking pies and cakes.
She was a very kind person and was loved by many because of her willingness to listen and give strength and encouragement to others. She always met you with a warm smile and was a devoted friend. Her family meant the world to her and she cherished her daughters and three grandchildren with all of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Myrle Elder.
Reverend Willa will forever be in the hearts of her daughters, Tamala and Sharon Wade, her grandchildren, Whitley (Mustapha) Kah, William and Destiny Wade; her siblings, Stephanie (Melvin) Luke and Darla Wade; step-mother, Mary Wade Lee; a host of extended family, many dear friends, and her church family.
"Above all we find comfort because we know Reverend Willa Wade Loved the Lord."
Humbly submitted,
The Family
GOODBYE IS NOT FOREVER
When you lived your life for others
and you loved without condition
When you made so many laugh
and your smile won't be forgotten
When you left behind an empty place
that no one else can fill
When the friendships that you shared
long to be renewed
When you built your life on hope
and fulfilled it every day
The footprints that you left behind
will bring us face to face
So, goodbye is not forever,
You're only steps away
The family is requesting those who can wear white and black to her life celebration service.
