Obituary

Riley was called home to join his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 20, 2013, 5:30 p.m. at the Trinity Health System (West Hospital), Steubenville, Ohio.

Riley was born on June 24, 1946. At an early age, he joined Morning Star Baptist Church in Weirton, West Virginia where he sang in the choir and sang solo as various churches. He was also a member of the A J Major Chorus. He graduated from Weir High School, Weirton, West Virginia. He played football. Riley worked as a Postal Carrier with the US Postal Service prior to joining the steel mill. After 40 years of service, Riley retired as a Crane Operator from Weirton Steel and Arcelor-Mittal Steel Corporations. Riley loved people and never met a stranger. His hobbies were DeeJaying, collecting Christian, Soul, and other types of music. He loved the Steelers.

Riley was preceded in death, by his father, Riley Jennings, Sr., daughter, Rosemarie Hoover, nephew Rodney Butler, and niece Leigheal Butler. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 45 years, Terry L. Jennings; Mother Virginia Jennings, Sisters: Beverly (Larry) Branham and Cynthia Jennings; Children: Vivian (ElBromoe) Ibrahim, Marcy Miller, Jamal Johnson, and Bernadette Stinson. Grandchildren: Andrea Hoover, Kyva Brotzman, Nevaeh Brotzman, Shayla Miller, DelVaugh McCarrel, Antwan McCarrel, Jonathan Anderson, and Manasseh Miller; six great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, many children we fostered and mentored.

Family & Friends, Caregivers & Prayer Warriors who helped in Riley's care, visited, called, baked or cooked, and offered so many acts of kindness, we can't thank you enough. Funeral Service Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, 11:00AM at Quinn Memorial AME Church. Visitation will be 10:00AM, one hour before service. Rev. Raymond Mickens will Officiate.
