Robert "Bobby McGhee passed away on April 25, 2016 at Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville, Ohio.
Bobby was born on June 8, 1947 to the late James Henry and Magdalene Bolten Poteat McGhee in North Carolina.
He obtained his degree and later became certified in welding. He enjoyed many careers including: Blaw-knox Foundry and Mill, Inc. in Wheeling, West Virginia, Central Property Service at the Pittsburgh International Airport and later retired from Landry Corporation where he worked as a Chef for Red Lobster.
He loved his children and held the women, Shirley McGhee, Lela Dalton and Regina Thorn, who gave them to him with the highest respect.
Bobby was preceded in death by: his parents, James and Magdalene; a brother, James Clinton McGhee; and a sister, Rose Ann McGhee Swearingen.
He leaves to mourn his passing: a brother, Bennie Lee (Celia Ann) Poteat; five sisters, Geraldine McGhee Wise, Joyce, Mary Catherine, and Diane McGhee all of Steubenville, Ohio, and Anna Margaret Mcghee of West Lafayette, Ohio; his children, Robert Jamal (Dawn) McGhee Harris, Anjomo Berthram (Carrie) McGhee, Caton' Lars (Stephanie) McGhee, Garrett Dalton McGhee, Aisha Herring McGhee and ShaVonnda McGhee, a grandson, Anjomo Boomer Allen Churchill, an ex- wife and very dear friend, Shirley, nieces, nephews, friends, Lela Dalton and Regina Thorn; a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
