Obituary
Robert "Bobby" W. Mitchell was born on June 24, 1952, to the union of the late James and Anna (née Congress) Mitchell in Welch, West Virginia.
Robert was reared in a Christian home. He was an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Wheeling, West Virginia, and sang in the Men's Choir.
He attended the Lincoln School of Trade and specialized woodwork. Bobby had a big heart and was an all around good guy. He was a dedicated husband and father. His sense of humor and ability to make people laugh will be forever remembered. He loved football and was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
He worked many years in the steel industry and was truly a jack of all trades. After the closing of the mill, he worked as a cook for Bob Evans. He was a hard-working provider and worked until he was disabled.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James Mitchell, and Anna Mitchell-Davis; his son, Robert James Mitchell; a brother, Leslie Mitchell and his step-father, Ernest Davis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Alice Mitchell; his daughters, Indira and Tina Kings of Fairmont, West VA; Santeria, and Anita Nightengale of Wheeling, WV; Twanna (Andre) Etheridge of PA; stepsons, Joel and Joevell Daniel both of Martins Ferry, OH; his step-daughters, Regina (Kenyette) Denson of Atlanta, GA; LaTonya Daniel of Denver, CO; and Elnora of Martins Ferry, OH; his sisters, Lynda (Richard) Lewis, Helen Burress, and Phyllis Green; a special son, Alfaygo Nightengale; many grand and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his church family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 105 12th Street in Wheeling, WV; from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Melvin G. Rippy will give the eulogy. Following his services, he will be laid to rest at Stone Church Cemetery in Wheeling. Arrangements by Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, LLC. (304) 797-1400
