Romia Chester, beloved daughter of the late Willie and Janie Chester, was born on April 18, 1931, in Weirton, West Virginia. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Wellsburg Healthcare Center in Wellsburg, West Virginia.
Romia was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent many years employed at Weirton Steel Corporation before retiring. She was a cherished and devoted member of the Morning Star Baptist Church, where she served with passion and commitment on the Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee. Her warm smile and kind heart touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She found great joy in spending quality time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories and spreading love and laughter wherever she went.
In addition to her parents, Romia was preceded in death by her seven beloved sisters, Dorothy, Eve, Frances, Mary, Minnie, Nancy, and Nellie, and her five dear brothers, Adam, James, Lorden, Otis, and Willie Jr.
Romia leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Morning Star Baptist Church, located at 3124 Weir Avenue in Weirton, West Virginia. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a heartfelt homegoing ceremony at noon. The Rev. James Brown will deliver a touching eulogy celebrating Romia's life. Following the service, the inurnment will occur at Paris Cemetery in Paris, PA.
