Rosetta Carter, 73, of Steubenville, Ohio, formally of Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2021. He was born July 12, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia. She is the daughter of the later Charlie and Amy Jeter Turpin
Rosetta entered the church at an early age and attended Richmond Public Schools. She was employed at Southern Biscuit for several years and then employed at Phillip Morris up until her passing. She later relocated to Ohio with her daughter during her sickness.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Amy J. Carter; father, Charlie Turpin; three brothers, Melvin Carter, Charlie Carter, and Charles Morgan; two sisters, Elsie Stanley, and Sadie Carter.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter, Toleta Carter Bailey (Charles); two grandchildren, James Carter, and Ashley Carter; five great-grandchildren, Arianna, Tylia, Londyn, Iyonni, and Kayden; three step-grandkids; two brothers, Samuel Carter, and Alfred Carter (Bishop Clementine); one sister, Sasie James; a special nephew, D'Monte Carter; special cousin, Pam; two special friends of many years, Theresa Coles and Gladys Howard; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A private family viewing was held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Gregory-Martin Funeral Home in Steubenville, Ohio. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in Richmond, Virginia from noon until the time of funeral service, 1:00 pm, at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, VA.
