Serenity Monae Crump, age 10, was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on December 12, 2015, to Corinthia Crump and Hillyet Mobley III. She entered eternal rest on September 16, 2026.
Serenity accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a beautiful and creative young girl whose energy could light up any room. Known for her big smile and unforgettable personality, Serenity had an artistic spirit beyond her years and brought joy wherever she went.
Serenity loved animals and was known for caring for and raising the neighborhood cats. As much as she loved her animals, you could not get Serenity to go anywhere near bugs! She definitely got that honestly from her mother. She enjoyed playing dress-up, using her Mommy’s makeup, and coming up with new ideas and styles for her hair and clothes.
Serenity was lovingly known as a “mama bear” to the younger children in her family, especially her brother King. She was a natural protector. When Serenity was in charge, everyone knew she was watching over them, and nothing was about to go down on her watch. Her caring spirit and love for her family were a special part of who she was.
Serenity loved anime, TikTok skits, and the color purple. She enjoyed spending time with her mother, grandmother, and brothers. One of her favorite things to do with her family was watch music videos and dance.
And Serenity certainly loved to eat! She could eat her Mommy out of house and home and somehow always seemed to eat more than all of her brothers. Her family will forever remember her love of food, her big personality, and the little moments that made everyone laugh.
May we always remember all the little things that made her uniquely Serenity. Though her time with us was far too short, she filled those years with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of God.
Serenity leaves to cherish her precious memory her mother, Corinthia Crump of Youngstown, Ohio; her brothers, Te’Quan Burnette, Tywan Crump, Tae’Zon Crump, and King Crump, all of Youngstown, Ohio; and her sister, Harmony Mobley of Youngstown, Ohio.
She also leaves her uncle, Devon (Stephanie) Finley Sr. of Youngstown, Ohio; her aunts, Shaquanda Crump and Charmayne Oliver, both of Youngstown, Ohio, Shealla Myers of Columbus, Ohio, and Melissa Gooden of Youngstown, Ohio; and her grandmother, Zerlene White of Youngstown, Ohio, who helped raise and care for her.
Serenity also leaves her beloved nephews, Kal’Juan Crump and Tae’Zon Crump Jr., both of Youngstown, Ohio; her niece, Amina Burnette of Youngstown, Ohio; and her special friend, Iya B. of Youngstown, Ohio.
She leaves her cousins, each of whom shared a special relationship with her: Dalay sha (Emeka) Oliver of New Albany, Ohio; De’Janae Oliver, De’Shaun Finley, and Keon Brown, all of Youngstown, Ohio; Devon Finley Jr. and Key’Aisa Finley of Columbus, Ohio; and Charlissa Tate and Riley Echols, both of Youngstown, Ohio; along with a host of other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Serenity was preceded in death by her father, Hillyet Mobley III; her grandmother, Carolyn Crump; her grandfather, Jazz Moncrief; and her aunt, Bridget Crump.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 9, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, Youngstown Chapel, 292 Madison Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
