IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tara L.
West
April 3, 1963 – December 16, 2020
Tara L. West, affectionately known as "Aunt Tara" or "Coco" quietly went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Trinity Medical Center West. She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the union of the late James and Rosetta Hython West.
She grew up in Cadiz, Ohio, where she attended Cadiz High School and received her high school diploma. After completing high school, she continued her college education at Dret School to become a nursing assistant.
Aunt Tara was pentecostal by faith, active in the church and community as the children's choir and mime director. She also opened up her home to many, loved unconditionally, and a mother to many.
Aunt Tara had a passion for children that inspired her to open up her own "Candyland Daycare" which she ran for over ten years. In her free time, she loved volunteering, spending time with family and friends. But we can't forget when Tara played tonk and had to cheat every once in a while, but it was all fun and games.
She was preceded in death by her significant other Rodney Pippin; brothers, Dwayne (mouse) West, and Tiger Lewis; sister, Pam Lewis; and one grandson, Isaiah McGee
Aunt Tara leaves to perpetuate her legacy which she created with Willie McKenzie II, three children, Angel West, Amber West (William), Willie McKenzie III (Lorraine), and Zi'Aira West Carlock; six grandchildren, Zion, Orlando, A'Godea, Isaac, Zacharius, and Zanyla; siblings, Johny Henry West, Carla West, Jamie West, Theresa West Strothers (Wayne), Stacy West, Yolonda Lewis, Rhonda Lewis, and Melinda Lewis; her additional sister and the second mother to her children, Renee McKenzie, and her best bud/cousin Brent West; a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, family, and friends.
She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
- Proverbs 31: 25-26
