Timothy Lee Jones

December 10, 1966 - August 29, 2021

Timothy Lee Jones, 54, of Steubenville, Ohio, departed peacefully from this life on the morning of Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the comfort of his home supported and surrounded by his loving and caring family. He was born on December 10, 1966.

He attended Steubenville City Schools. He worked at Center City Marine and Allied Roofing in Springfield, Missouri, until his illness prohibited. In 2001, Tim was diagnosed with a rare vascular disease called CADASIL of the brain (cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy).

Timmy liked break dancing and singing. His favorite singers were John Legend and Prince. His favorite movie was Purple Rain, and his nickname was Prince.

Tim had a sense of humor, and you never knew what would come out of his mouth! Everyone that he came into contact with loved him and he thought all the ladies smelled good and were "fine, fine, oh yeah, oh yeah" even in his illness.

Timothy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julia Jones; and his grandfather, Oscar Jones.

Timothy is survived by his mother, Victoria Jones; step-father James Edwards of Syracuse, New York; siblings, Reshawn and Julia Jones, both of Steubenville; his children, Timothy Grimes, Eric Grimes, Tyler Croskey, Armani Jones, Atrina Jones, Na'Shell Jones, Brevin Jones, and Kayden Jones; grandchildren, Tavin Grimes, and Ella Jones; Ricky Anderson and Albert Dawson, who were like brothers as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Timothy Lee Jones will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL AND LIFE EVENT CENTER, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio 43952. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with the funeral to follow at 12:00 noon. The entombment will be held at Union Cemetery. Reverend Marvin Barner will officiate. The eulogy will be delivered by Pastor Primus Mack III. Flowers, donations, and condolences can be offered at Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, 711 South St., Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
