IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tyra Diane
Crawford
February 26, 1970 – April 15, 2021
On April 15, 2021, our beloved Tyra Diane Crawford returned home to be with the Lord. She was born February 26, 1970, the daughter of Melody Walton and Robert Crawford Sr.
She was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. She graduated from Steubenville "Big Red" High School (88 lovers in the house!). Growing up, she was active in the Jr. Elks. She worked for several years and enjoyed a career in customer service.
Tyra easily made friends with her outgoing personality. She was always laughing or making others laugh by joking. She liked hand dancing and could truly dance the night away. She spent many days bartending at the legendary Safari Bar and making memories with many countless friends like her best friends, Marleen "Tank" Hicks (you never saw one without the other.) and Amanda VanKirk (they never missed their Wednesday outings.).
One thing Tyra loved most was having the presence of her family and friends. She would open up her home to anybody that needed a place, including the ones she raised like her own, Westley, Reva, Natausha, and her special brother Salih and their children.
She was preceded in death by her Stepfather, Charles "Frog" Walton; and her grandparents, William and Johnnie Mae Lee, and Thomas and Delores Crawford.
Tyra leaves behind her loving mother, Melody "Lucky" Walton; father, Robert (Selema) Crawford Sr.; two daughters, Andrea and Michala Crawford; and one son, Patrick Gilbert Sr.; grandchildren, Jayon, Honesty, Jaymir, Patrick Jr., and Nova; three sisters, Charna Crawford, Nichole Catling, and Darlene Crawford; one brother, Robert Crawford Jr.; goddaughter, Kimisha Palmer; a special first nephew, Lil Rome; and a generous host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service, noon, on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL AND LIFE EVENT CENTER, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Rev. Maurice Lawson will deliver the eulogy.
