Wayne Robert Thigpen, of Youngstown, entered into Heavenly rest on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Mr. Thigpen was born on September 17, 1954. He was the son of Mary Montgomery (Thigpen, Gibson) and Charles Thigpen.


Mr. Thigpen proudly attended South High School and Harding Business College. He was the owner and operator of Godfather Express Transportation Service. His company motto, “doin’ a little good in the neighborhood” was also that of his life.


Above all, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He looked forward to family dinners and gatherings. He recently celebrated 18 years of sobriety, by the grace of Jesus Christ.


Wayne will be waiting in Heaven for his five daughters: Anna Burks, Barbara Robinson, Mary Harris, Don’Jeane Love, and Jazmine Thigpen; his nine grandchildren Patrick Burks, Myah Johnson, Isaiah and Daniel Robinson, Briasia Brown, Kalaya Wainwright, Malachi Love, Berchindle Foster III, and Roslyn Whitehead; and his six great grandchildren Alaya, A’zeikio, and Sebastian Wainwright, and Titan, Ryder, and Amora Burks.


Along with them, Wayne leaves a two God-children Latonya and Anderson Black, as well as a grand host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.


Wayne was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Armani Wainwright, and both of his parents.


Funeral Service will be held at The Jaylex Center on Saturday June 13, 2026 at 1:00pm: 2110 Glenwood Ave Youngstown, Oh 44511 with a viewing from 12:00 to 1:00.


Repass Service will follow at Bibleland Church of God in Christ 3767 Jacobs Rd. Hubbard, Ohio 44425.
