Yurey Yuanna Swearingen-Gholston was born on March 12, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Jaunita (Profit) Swearingen. Yurey passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Yurey was Baptist by faith. She grew up attending Second Baptist Church in Steubenville. She graduated from Steubenville "Big Red" High School. She worked for several years in the food service industry. Yurey was a lovely, caring, compassionate sister, niece, aunt, and cousin, and she will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Esther (Profit) Davis, and Ann (Swearingen) Williams; parents LeRoy and Juanita Swearingen; sister LaRoyce A. Swearingen; and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by two brothers Omar Swearingen and Orlando (Brenda) Swearingen; and uncle Nick (Tiba) Barnes; aunt Willie Belle Profit-Yates; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service, noon, at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. The Rev. Maurice Lawson
